Coast Guard medevacs possible stroke victim off Port Mansfield, Texas

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coast Guard medevaced a 41-year-old man Thursday evening from a fishing boat 15 miles east of the Port Mansfield Jetties.

At 7:47 p.m., a crewmember of the fishing boat Big Bull contacted Coast Guard Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi watchstanders to report that a crewmember aboard the boat was suffering from a stroke.

A Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew arrived on scene and hoisted the man from the fishing boat.

At approximately 9:50 p.m., the man was delivered to Christus Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi — Shoreline.

He was reported to be in stable condition.
