Coast Guard Medevacs One from Cutter

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard medevaced a crewmember from the Coast Guard Cutter Pamlico early Monday afternoon in the vicinity of the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet (MRGO).

Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a call at approximately 11:30 a.m. from the cutter reporting that a crewmember with an unknown back injury, sustained while working underway on the buoy tender Monday morning.

Air Station New Orleans launched an HH-65C Dolphin helicopter crew to medevac the man. The crew arrived on scene, hoisted the man and transferred him to West Jefferson Medical Center. His condition is unknown.

The Pamlico is a 160-foot construction tender homeported in New Orleans.
