Coast Guard Medevacs Man with Heart Attack Symptoms

PORTSMOUTH, Va. – A man working onboard an Army Corps of Engineers barge near Cape Charles, Va., was medevaced by the Coast Guard after suffering symptoms of a heart attack this morning.

A Coast Guard rescue crew from Station Cape Charles responded to medevac request from the Army Corps of Engineers barge McFarland after a 55-year-old crewman began suffering the symptoms of a heart attack.

Station Cape Charles transferred the man to EMS personnel onshore who took him to the Shore Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
