Coast Guard medevacs man suffering with chest pains

MOBILE, Ala. – The Coast Guard medevaced a 53-year old male suffering from chest pains from a transport vessel seven miles south of Dauphin Island, Ala. Friday.

The Coast Guard received a call from the liaison of the M/V San Antonio, reporting that a crewmember was in need of a medevac. Coast Guard Sector Mobile diverted Cutter Cobia to assist along with a 41-foot rescue boat and crew from Station Dauphin Island. A Coast Guard HH-65 Dolphin rescue helicopter and crew from Aviation Training Center Mobile, Ala. were also launched to assist. The Dolphin crew safely hoisted and transported the man to the University of South Alabama.

The condition of the man is unknown.
