Coast Guard medevacs man from fishing vessel off Corpus Christi coast

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Coast Guard medevaced a man from a fishing vessel 50 nautical miles off the Corpus Christi coast Saturday evening.

A watchstander at Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi received a call at approximately 4:45 p.m. June 20, 2009, reporting that a man on board a fishing vessel was suffering from chest pains and numbness in his extremities.

A Coast Guard HH-65C rescue helicopter crew was launched. The rescue helicopter crew arrived on scene and transported the man to Spohn Memorial Hospital in Corpus Christi.

The man was reported to be in stable condition upon arrival to the hospital.
