Coast Guard medevacs man 30 miles off Atlantic City, N.J.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – The Coast Guard medevaced a 51-year-old man aboard the 656-foot Libra Leader 30 miles off the coast of Atlantic City Saturday.

Medevaced was Alfredo Tiongson.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay received a call at 8:03 p.m. from a crewmember aboard the Libra Leader reporting Tiongson was having a possible heart attack.

A MH-65C Dolphin rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City arrived on scene and hoisted Tiongson aboard the helicopter.

Tiongson was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Campus in Pomona, N.J., for treatment.
