Coast Guard medevacs injured woman in Destin

NEW ORLEANS– The Coast Guard assisted a woman with a reported back injury at Crab Island in Destin, Florida, Thursday.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Station Destin received a report at 11:40 a.m. of a woman who sustained a back injury at Crab Island.

A 45-Foot Response Boat-Medium crew from Station Destin arrived on scene at 11:50 a.m.

The crew discovered the woman was aboard a pontoon boat with three other people aboard.

Boat crew members went aboard the pontoon boat and transported the woman to emergency medical services at Station Destin.
