Coast Guard medevacs injured crewmember

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard medevaced a male in his late 50’s from a vessel about 20 miles south of Houma, LA this afternoon.

A watchstander at Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans received a call at 1:51 p.m., from Coast Guard Sector New Orleans, reporting that a crewmember working on the Fishing Vessel Miss Cathy had been injured. The injured man was reported to have a compound fracture to his ankle and leg.

Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans crews launched a rescue helicopter to pick up the man and transported him safely to Terrebonne General Medical Center in Houma, LA.
