COAST GUARD MEDEVACS HEART ATTACK PATIENT

NEW ORLEANS- A Coast Guard Air Stations New Orleans HH-65C helicopter crew medevaced 43-year-old Anthony Fontenot of California from the Chevron Viosca Knoll 900 oil rig approximately 85 miles southeast of New Orleans this afternoon.

The air station received a call at 4:16 p.m., reporting that an offshore supply vessel’s crewmember was suffering from an apparent heart attack.

The HOS Dominator transferred the man to the Chevron Rig at Viosca Knoll 900 for evacuation.

Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans launched a rescue crew to transport the man safely to West Jefferson General Hospital.
