Coast Guard locates, New Jersey State Police rescue 1 near Tuckerton, N.J.

TUCKERTON, N.J. – The Coast Guard located a man aboard a 16-foot boat Monday in Great Bay near Tuckerton, N.J., and the New Jersey State Police rescued him.

The Coast Guard received a call at 6:19 p.m. from the owner of Captain Mike’s Marina, in Tuckerton, reporting an overdue boat with one person aboard.

A rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., a rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Barnegat Light, N.J., and members of the New Jersey State Police Marine Division searched for the man.

The rescue helicopter crew located the boat and a New Jersey State Police boat crew arrived on scene and took theboat with the man aboard in tow to Captain Mike’s Marina.

There were no medical issues reported.
