Coast Guard lifts port conditions in Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – The Coast Guard Sector San Juan Captain of the Port, Capt. Eduardo Pino, established port readiness condition WHISKEY Thursday evening, for the ports in the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico due to the pending arrival and updated tropical outlook of Tropical Depression Erika.

With the return to port condition WHISKEY in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands all port and marine operations, including waterfront facility and vessel transits, return to normal subject to prudent seamanship and safe work practices. All mariners and facility operators/owners should closely monitor this tropical depression since port conditions are subject to change pending changes in the projected track and strength of the weather system.
