Coast Guard Helicopter Medevacs Boat Crewman

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard medevaced a 32-year-old male from a 50-foot fishing vessel approximately 60 miles south of Apalachicola, Florida this afternoon.

A watchstander at Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans received the call at 7:15 a.m., with a report of an offshore fishing vessel’s crewmember suffering from abdominal pains, vomiting and dehydration.

Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans launched an HH-65C Rescue Helicopter crew to pick up the man and transport him safely to Bay Medical Center for treatment.
