Coast Guard helicopter crew medevacs platform crewmember

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard medevaced a 51-year-old crewmember from a production platform 110 miles southwest of New Orleans last night.

The Coast Guard received a call at 10:45 p.m., reporting that a crewmember working on the platform, Hercules 235, was suffering from chest pains and was in need of medevac.

Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans launched a HH-65C Dolphin rescue helicopter and crew, which medevaced the man from the platform and transported him safely to Houma Airport, where he was delivered to an awaiting ambulance.

The condition of the man is unknown.
