Coast Guard, FWC search for overdue 49-year-old man near Cedar Key, Fla.

CEDAR KEY, Fla. — Coast Guard crewmembers along with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission are searching for a 49-year-old man in a 20-foot white Hurricane Deck boat near here, Thursday.

Missing is David Lashley of Lake City, Fla.

Lashley’s son contacted Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg watchstanders at 9:35 a.m., reporting his father was overdue. The family received a text message at 3:30 a.m., stating he was disabled 15 miles off of Cedar Key with no other information.

An HC-130 Hercules aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Marlin, a 27-foot Utility Boat crew from Coast Guard Station Yankeetown and two boatcrews from FWC are searching for Lashley.
