ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Coast Guard, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), and other local law enforcement partners are conducting a five-day maritime law enforcement training exercise Sept. 27-Oct. 1, 2010 in Tampa Bay.

The exercise is designed to provide Waterborne Response Team Training and Federal Maritime Exclusionary Zone Enforcement Training to the maritime law enforcement community, including partners in federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, in order to maintain preparedness for emergencies.

The five-day course will consist of a combination of classroom and practical use of maritime law enforcement techniques.

Class participants will be put through a series of drills designed to improve their boat handling skills, enforce operational knowledge and experience, while allowing them to become familiar with the limitations of their vessels.
