Coast Guard Evacuates 61-year old man

SEATTLE – The Coast Guard medically evacuated a 61-year old man 2-miles north west of Copalis Head, Wash., today.

Coast Guard Station Grays Harbor received notification that the master of the fishing vessel Scooter was in need of medical assistance and would need to be airlifted off of the vessel.

Station Grays Harbor notified Coast Guard Air Station Astoria. An HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew was already in the air and was diverted to the scene.

The man was transported to Bowerman Airport in Hoquiam, Wash., where local emergency medical personnel were waiting to take him to the hospital.
