Coast Guard escorting shrimp boat with 4 people on board back to Mayport

Southeastern Coast Guard News
ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. – Flooding is now under control on the 88-foot shrimp boat Sea King that was taking on water with four people aboard off Ponte Vedra, Fla., Tuesday morning.

A boatcrew aboard a 45-foot Response Boat – Medium from Coast Guard Station Mayport in Atlantic Beach, Fla., is continuing to escort the Sea King in to a Mayport port.

Coast Guardsmen passed a dewatering pump to the vessel and are using it and the Sea King’s dewatering pump to keep up with the flooding. All four people remain aboard.

The Sea King is expected to arrive in Mayport Tuesday afternoon.
