Coast Guard energizes new Joint Harbor Operations Command

SEATTLE - Captain Stephen Metruck, the Commanding Officer of Coast Guard Sector Seattle, salutes Lieutenant Commander Jason Tama and Lieutenant Commander Steven Wheeler in a ceremony to initiate the use of the new Joint Harbor Operations Command (JHOC) today.  The ceremony marked the first day of official use of the JHOC.

SEATTLE – Captain Stephen Metruck, the Commanding Officer of Coast Guard Sector Seattle, salutes Lieutenant Commander Jason Tama and Lieutenant Commander Steven Wheeler in a ceremony to initiate the use of the new Joint Harbor Operations Command (JHOC) today. The ceremony marked the first day of official use of the JHOC.

The JHOC is the new home for Sector Seattle’s Sector Command Center, Communications Center and Vessel Traffic Center. Eventually, the JHOC will be the premiere Coast Guard Command Center for the Pacific Northwest partnering with the Navy, Washington State Patrol, Customs and Border Protection, various agencies of the Department of Homeland Security, and State of Washington and local first responder agencies.
