ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The Coast Guard ended the search for a missing 34-year-old man after Alaska State Troopers located him safe near a community in the Village of Port Graham Friday afternoon.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Anchorage received a report Wednesday afternoon that the man went missing after he reportedly departed on a skiff and was last seen between the hours of 1 to 2 a.m. Thursday.
Multiple air and surface assets with the Coast Guard, Alaska State Troopers, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, good Samaritans and the Village of Port Graham saturated search areas along the shoreline and waters of Port Graham.
“We appreciate the dedication and support of our partners and the Village of Port Graham in the efforts to locate the missing man,” said Petty Officer 1st Class Jason Yonk, Sector Anchorage, command duty officer.
