BOSTON – The Coast Guard has ended their search for the crew of the 140-foot fishing vessel Retriever who are now en route to Portland, Maine, Monday, November 08, 2010.

The owner of the Retriever contacted the First Coast Guard District Command Center in Boston and reported he had spoken with the mater of the vessel who said the vessel was not in distress.

The master stated a large wave came over the side of the vessel and set off the boat’s emergency position indicating radio beacon (EPRIB). The boat also suffered a loss of generator power, limiting the crew’s ability to communicate.

There have been no reports of injuries at this time.

The Coast Guard began searching for the vessel and its crew after receiving an alert from their EPIRB.
