Coast Guard Cutter Resolute crew returns home after busy 30-day patrol

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.- The crew of Coast Guard Cutter Resolute is scheduled to return home Tuesday at 10 a.m., after a successful 30-day patrol in the Gulf of Mexico, Florida Straits and Atlantic Ocean.

During their patrol, Resolute crewmembers interdicted a vessel west of the Bahamas on Sept. 22 with 12 undocumented migrants. Resolute crewmembers safely transferred the migrants to a Coast Guard 87-foot patrol boat for further disposition.

For 19 days during their deployment, Resolute crewmembers participated in a dedicated shipboard training program at Naval Station Mayport, Fla. The crew performed drills and exercises including fire fighting, weapons systems, towing, navigation, and various other drills. The crew earned praise for their performance from Afloat Training Group Mayport, Fla., scoring an average of 90 percent for the 122 exercises evaluated.

Cutter Resolute is a 210-foot Reliance class cutter and has a crew complement of 12 officers and 68 enlisted personnel.
