Coast Guard Cutter Jacob Poroo to hold free public tours in Mobile, Alabama

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard is providing free public tours aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Jacob Poroo during the Mardi Gras celebration Saturday and Sunday.

The tours will be conducted February 10, 2018, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. and February 11, 2018, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The cutter will be located at The Gulf Coast Museum, 155 Water Street, Mobile, Alabama, 36602, in downtown Mobile, Alabama.

The Jacob Poroo is one of the Coast Guard’s newest cutters, commissioned on December 8, 2017. It is currently stationed in Pascagoula, Mississippi, as an Eighth Coast Guard District asset.
