Coast Guard cutter crew takes fishing boat in tow

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – The crew of a Coast Guard cutter towed a 94-foot fishing boat with seven people aboard 70 miles east of Atlantic City, N.J, Tuesday.

The Coast Guard received a call at 7:46 p.m. Monday from a crewmember aboard the Bountiful II who reported engine problems.

The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Finback, homeported in Cape May, N.J, arrived on scene at 7:21 a.m. Tuesday and took the boat in tow.

The Coast Guard cutter crew handed off the tow of the Bountiful II to a commercial towing company near Cape May Harbor at about 11 p.m.

The commercial towing company towed the 94-foot boat into Cape May Harbor where the crew of the Bountiful II moored up in Cape May at Cold Springs Fish Dock.
