Coast Guard crews to host Special Olympics

BUZZARD’S BAY, Mass. – U.S. Coast Guard crews are scheduled to host the 22nd Massachusetts Special Olympics at Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod, Sept. 24, 2010.

More than 100 Coast Guard, Air Force, Army National Guard, and civilian government employees have volunteered to provide lunch and present awards to the Olympians.

Approximately 300 Olympians from Massachusetts are expected to participate this year. The events will be held at the Army gym from 9:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Friends and family of volunteers are invited to attend.

The Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer’s Association has hosted this event since its inception 22 years ago.
