Coast Guard crews searching for overboard cruise ship passenger off Palm Beach, Fla.

7th Coast Guard District NewsMIAMI — Coast Guard crews are searching for a 47-year-old women who fell overboard off the cruise ship Bahamas Celebration during their transit from Freeport, Bahamas to Palm Beach, Fla., Wednesday.

Search and rescue coordinators at Coast Guard Sector Miami were notified by the Captain of the cruise ship Bahamas Celebration of the report of a missing women passenger. Crewmembers aboard the Bahamas Celebration searched the cruise ship for the women and reported negative results.

Coast Guard crews are currently searching for the missing person in the water. The search area spans out approximately 900 miles long.

Anyone with more information on the missing person in the water are asked to contact 7th Coast Guard District search and rescue coordinators at 305-415-6800.

  • An HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircraft aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station Miami
  • A C-130 fixed-wing aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, Fla.
  • Crewmembers from Coast Guard Station Lake Worth Inlet, Fla.
  • Coast Guard Cutter Drummond crewmembers
  • Coast Guard Cutter Cormorant crewmembers
