Coast Guard crew medevacs 1 near Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA – The Coast Guard medevaced a 61-year-old male Tuesday after he fell aboard a barge he was working on near Mantua Creek in the Delaware River here.

The Coast Guard received a call at 6:45 a.m. from the captain of the tug Bohemia reporting the man had sustained a head injury.

A rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., arrived on scene and transported the man to the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center in Philadelphia for treatment.
