Coast Guard boat crew medically evacuates woman from charter fishing vessel

PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. – The Coast Guard medically evacuated a 19-year-old female from a charter fishing vessel approximately 22-miles off the coast of Port Canaveral Tuesday.

The Coast Guard received a request for a medical evacuation from the charter fishing vessel Miss Cape Canaveral at approximately 11:39 a.m.., Tuesday. The initial reported indicated that a person aboard the vessel was suffering from a seizure and required immediate transfer to an emergency care facility.

A 45-foot rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Canaveral arrived on scene at approximately 12:30 p.m. Tuesday and transported the patient ashore to awaiting EMS personnel. No further details are known at this time.
