Coast Guard assists 10 people aboard adrift vessel west of Bahamas

MIAMI — The Coast Guard along with commercial salvage assisted 10 people aboard a disabled and adrift vessel Monday 9 miles west of Bimini, Bahamas.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard 7th District command center received a notification of the 28-foot pleasure craft from commercial salvage company. The watchstanders issued an urgent marine information broadcast and diverted the Coast Guard Cutter Paul Clark crew.

The cutter Paul Clark arrived on scene and embarked eight people aboard the cutter with no reported injuries. The Coast Guard Cutter William Flores arrived on scene and embarked two people.

The cutter William Flores transferred two people to a commercial salvage vessel, which took the disable pleasure craft in tow.

The cutter Paul Clark will return to Miami with the other eight people.
