Coast Guard Airlifts 35,000 Pounds of Emergency Supplies to SoCal

ALAMEDA, Calif. –. – Crews from Coast Guard Air Station Sacramento began a second emergency airlift to the victims of the Southern California wildfires with an additional 15,000 pounds of blankets, portable beds and other emergency supplies at noon today.

Crews began flying at 1 a.m., carrying more than 20,000 pounds of emergency supplies to the San Diego area in a joint mission with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Unit crews will continue to fly these humanitarian missions until the wildfire threat has been resolved.
