Coast Guard aircrew medvacs ailing man from fishing boat

Pacific Southwest Coast Guard NewsSAN DIEGO — An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from U.S. Coast Guard Sector San Diego medically evacuated a man who was suffering from heart attack-like symptoms 90 miles south of San Diego, Saturday.

The Coast Guard received a call from the crew of the 80-foot fishing vessel Tribute at 12:30 p.m., requesting assistance for the ailing 68-year-old passenger.

The helicopter crew hoisted the man from the vessel and flew him to the Sector where he was transferred to awaiting emergency medical personnel 3:20 p.m.
