Coast Guard Air Station Houston medevacs man from woods

HOUSTON – The Coast Guard medevaced a man with a fractured pelvis Friday afternoon, near Spring.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston received a report at approximately 11:29 a.m. from Spring Creek Emergency Management Services, reporting that a 51-year old male had been horseback riding when he was thrown from the horse and suffered a fractured pelvis. Local Life Flight was not able to access the man due to dense vegetation.

Coast Guard Air Station Houston launched an MH-65C Dolphin helicopter and crew and they arrived on scene at approximately 1:05 p.m. The crew successfully hoisted the man from the woods along with an EMS technician that had stayed with the man.

The man was transported to Memorial Hermann Medical Center.

The man’s condition is currently unknown
