Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod to host joint training

BOURNE, Mass. – Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod will host an aircraft mishap response joint training for Coast Guard and local emergency responders Nov. 01, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The training will focus on improving the ability of local agencies to work together when responding to aircraft accidents.

The Coast Guard will provide local first responders with information about how to respond in the unlikely event of a Coast Guard aircraft accident taking place outside of the Massachusetts Military Reservation. Participants will be receiving training from Air Station Cape Cod’s Aviation Safety Department and getting hands-on training with static displayed aircraft.

Participants will include Sandwich Fire Department, Mashpee Fire Department, Falmouth Fire Department, Hyannis Fire Department, Bourne Fire Department, Martha’s Vineyard Fire Department, Nantucket Fire Department, Hyannis Airport Crash Rescue Department, and Cape Cod Coast Guard Air Station Crash Rescue Department.
