Air Station Miami medevacs 26 year-old-man

MIAMI — Coast Guard crews medically evacuated a 26-year-old male suffering from seizure-like symptoms aboard a pleasure craft approximately 18 miles northeast of Fort Pierce Inlet, Fla., on Saturday.

Coast Guard Sector Miami search-and-rescue coordinators received a call at 10 a.m. reporting a crewmember aboard the pleasure craft Bad Monkey was suffering from seizure-like symptoms and requested the male be medevaced.

The Coast Guard responded by launching an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Miami. The helicopter crew arrived on scene and safely hoisted the man at about 11 a.m., and transferred him to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce, Fla., where his condition was listed as stable.
