Air Station Houston medevacs man 10 mile south of Sabine Pass

HOUSTON – A Coast Guard helicopter crew from Air Station Houston medevaced a man from a Lake Charles Pilots boat 10 miles south of Sabine Pass, Thursday.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston in Galena Park received a call from the 97-foot off-shore supply vessel Miss Mia reporting a man overboard at 6:26 a.m. The man was later rescued by a vessel belonging to the Lake Charles Pilots.

A Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Houston was dispatched and hoisted the man. The man was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.
