SABINE PASS, Texas – Coast Guard Capt. William Diehl, commander Sector Houston-Galveston, presents Coast Guard Aids to Navigation Team Sabine Pass with the Sumner I. Kimball Award here Friday, March 7, 2008. The Kimball Award requires a combination of good test scores, crew proficiency, great condition of the vessels, excellent performance of underway drills, successful and progressive unit training programs, survival systems readiness and good administrative work by all members. Therefore, this is one of the most prestigious awards that the Coast Guard can bestow on any individual unit for exemplary performance of operations.
