Other than being an officer, I’m not sure of any of the requirements. Try checking at http://www.gocoastguard.com

  3. Bryan, check out the Blue 21 program… also, swing by CGBlog.org; I know a while back we had some stuff that might be of use to you… you can also contact us there if you have more questions.

I’m a subscriber of yours on YouTube. I was wondering if all the videos that you post here are also posted there? Thanks.

  5. cgnews says:

Not all videos are on YouTube. They are posted to Revver first and later make it to YouTube. Sometimes they never make it to YouTube.

You can view them at Revver at http://www.revver.com/u/CoastGuardNews/

John – The Red Bull Races are coming to Detroit at the end of May. There are rumors that the Detroit River will be closed. Any idea where I can find specifics on the closer? Will it be closed for the whole weekend….etc?

    CGNews editors, staff and readers:
I am trying to put together information on Long Island Sound, and have had a tough time finding information on how often it has frozen over. I have called numerous CG stations, and they state that records are not kept there.
I just started to gather a list of those who have lost their lives on LIS, and want to start a list of oil spills. If you know of a place I can find that information, I would appreciate it.
This information is free for the request, and I share it with teachers, students, and researchers.
    Joe Schnierlen

Freeze over – Check with NOAA
Oil Spills – Check with the EPA
Lives Lost – Not sure where you would find that.

John, I am the insurer for the tug Ramrod that sanked and the two barges that were recovered.
I have on my claim file that the vessel “La Jean Pierre” was
the vessel responsible for recovery of the abandoned barges.
Your repot indicated that vessel “M.V Lucky Seven” was responsible for the recovery of the abandoned barges, could you give me deatils where the “Lucky Seven” delivered these barges and if their were charges paid and to whom they were paid to.If you are able to assist us in this matter, we would be happy for any information you may have or persons we may have to contact on this matter.

The only thing I know is what the press release stated. You would need to contact the Eighth Coast Guard District for any additional informatioon.
