Coast Guard, partner agencies search for overdue boaters near Pine Island, Fla.

PINE ISLAND, Fla. — The Coast Guard and partner agencies are searching for two overdue men in a 27-foot boat approximately seven miles west of Pine Island Sound, Fla., Monday.

Missing are Elionay Lorenzo, 33, and Osmaikel Bernal, 22.

Boat U.S. contacted watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg at 10:35 p.m., Sunday, regarding the two male men who were reported overdue by family members. The men had departed on a fishing trip at 12 p.m., Sunday and were expected to return at 4 p.m.

The boat is described as a 1998 27-foot white and beige center console Pro Line with a green top and a tag number of FL2751KB.

An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew and a C-130 Herecules crew from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, a 33-foot Special Purpose Craft – Law Enforcement boatcrew from Coast Guard Station Fort Myers Beach, boat and helicopter crews from Lee County Sheriff’s Office, boat and helicopter crews from Collier County Sheriff’s Office and a boatcrew from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission are searching for the men.
