Fishing boat recovers remains of Lady Mary crewman near Cape May, N.J.

CAPE MAY, N.J. – A fishing boat recovered the remains of a Lady Mary crew member in their fishing nets Wednesday 60 miles off the coast of Cape May, N.J.

SAN DIEGO — The Coast Guard suspended the search for survivors of a downed Navy helicopter 15 miles west of Imperial Beach at 12:00 p.m., Thursday.

Coast Guard Station Grand Haven hosts safe boating open house

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. – U.S. Coast Guard Station Grand Haven will host a boating safety open house May 30-31, 2009.

Coast Guard unit hosts ribbon-cutting ceremony

BALTIMORE – Coast Guard Sector Baltimore hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday to mark the completion of their 2nd floor building renovation project.
The $1 million project was initiated to address rapidly progressing space constraint issues, correct previous issues of water intrusion and upgrade the air handling system.

Coast Guard, Alaska State Troopers increase boating awareness

JUNEAU, Alaska – The Coast Guard along with Alaska State Troopers will be conducting boating education safety training in an effort to better educate mariners about boating regulations through public outreach efforts and increased enforcement on the water during Memorial Day weekend.
