NEW YORK-An estimated 300 gallons of number-six oil is reported to have spilled about one-mile northeast of the Staten Island Ferry Terminal in Bayride Anchorage during a bunkering transfer at about 5:30 p.m. today.

BILOXI, Miss. – The Coast Guard has reopened the waterway through the Popps Ferry Bridge on Back Bay and approved a salvage plan to remove damaged, sunken barges and debris. Salvage operations are scheduled to begin today.
