Coast Guard partners to hold safety workshop for local fishermen

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. – The Coast Guard is scheduled to give local fishermen a day of hands-on safety training at the University of Massachusetts, Marine Science Campus here from 7:30 a.m., to 2 p.m., Friday.

Coast Guard Conducting Medevac 120 Miles Off-Shore

The Coast Guard is currently conducting a medevac of a man that was injured on a ship over 100 miles west of Humboldt County. The man was hoisted aboard the rescue helicopter and is being transported to St Joseph Hospital. The helicopter should be landing just before 1700 local time.

Coast Guard Awards New Recycling Contract for Kodiak Base

JUNEAU, Alaska – The Coast Guard has awarded a Recyclable Waste Processing and Disposal Service Contract for $1.11 million to Nick’s Auto & Salvage at Integrated Support Command (ISC) Kodiak beginning Nov. 17, 2008. The contract is for Base Year and four options.
