NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard medevaced a 62-year-old man from the Carnival Cruise Ship Ecstasy about 250 miles south of the Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River in the Gulf of Mexico, today.

Coast Guard Rescues Man from Boat Fire

ST. CLARE SHORES, Mich. — Coast Guard Station St. Clare Shores rescued an 82-year-old man from a fire on his 42-foot boat today near the Gross Pointe Yacht Club at approximately 10:30 a.m.
The station assisted John Henry Lyngklip on to their 33-foot Special Purpose Craft-Law Enforcement boat, while a commercial salvage vessel extinguished the fire.

Coast Guard Names Enlisted Person of the Year

JUNEAU, Alaska – The Coast Guard has named a crewmember of the Coast Guard Cutter Hickory as its 2007 active duty Enlisted Person of the Year.
