Alaska Ranger Investigation Enters Fifth Day of Testimony
DUTCH HARBOR, Alaska – The Marine Board of Investigation began Tuesday’s hearing by taking testimony from Makoto Oide, one of the technicians aboard the Alaska Ranger.

Coast Guard suspends search for missing crewmember
NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard suspended its search at noon today for the missing crewmember who fell overboard from a 600-foot freight vessel, Vita Pride, 17 miles southeast of Southwest Pass, Sunday.
The search began Sunday after a crewmember from the Vita Pride contacted the Coast Guard and reported Episanio Odavar, 39, had fallen overboard.

Coast Guard reopens Mississippi River
VICKSBURG, Miss. – The Coast Guard reopened the Mississippi River at noon today, from mile markers 422 to 440.
A sunken barge, being pushed by the towing vessel Ray A Eckstein, was located at mile marker 435.8 and has been determined to be below 90-feet of water.
The incident is under investigation.
