MIAMI – The Coast Guard is currently searching, for Timothy Stone, a 52-year-old-man, who was reported overdue after he failed to return from a voyage as scheduled yesterday.
According to friends, Stone departed Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Saturday morning and planned to sail his 22-foot vessel to Summerland Key, Fla., via the Intracoastal Waterway.

1845- Lighthouse establishment transferred to Revenue Marine Bureau. Metal buoys were first put into service. They were riveted iron barrels that replaced the older wooden stave construction.
